About this Class

⭐️ This is an advanced workshop for Kismet house team coaches and performers who have completed Kismet’s improv curriculum, or equivalent. WHERE: Kismet Theater 🎯This workshop is intended for aspiring improv coaches and for current coaches who want to share their experience and discuss best practices, as well as ask any questions relating to coaching. 📍For some this may be a starting point, for others a place to tune up certain aspects of your approach, and for everyone a place to share your insights! We all have experienced at least one incredible coach who has served as a role model and inspiration for our own coaching. Plus, we all bring unique experiences with us into the role of coach. By taking part in this workshop you will have a chance to learn, but also to assist your fellow coaches, and aspiring coaches of different levels. We want you to share your opinions and your questions, so come with any you might have! Part way through the workshop we will be joined by volunteer improvisers of different levels. You will not be improvising, but everyone who wants to will have an opportunity to try coaching during the workshop. Spaces are limited. To be put on a waitlist for the next workshop, email rebecca@kismetimprov.com Instructor: Randy Miller Randy Miller is an established improviser, coach, and teacher who trained at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) theater in NYC. As a member of their advanced Academy Program, Randy honed his skills under the guidance of amazing coaches and gained independent training with various indie improv teams in New York. Randy has been a house performer at Kismet Improv since 2022. You can catch Randy actively performing and coaching teams at Kismet's Friday Night House Party, where previously performed with the Marquee Freeform. Additionally, he is the producer of Kismet's storytelling show, The Cicada. Beyond Kismet, Randy shares his love for improv by teaching adults with developmental disabilities at The Outsider Collective in Pawtucket, RI, and at the MAB Training and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough, MA, where he works with adults who have developmental disabilities, strokes, or other TBIs. Randy’s teaching philosophy is about trust—trusting yourself as a performer, trusting your teammates, and embracing the unknown in life and improv.
