The class wraps up with a live performance where you’ll showcase your polished set in front of an audience. Instructor Bio: Jessie Aufiery is a literary translator, fiction writer, and improviser with a background in stand-up comedy, all shaped by a life spent moving between diverse cultures. Growing up in Philadelphia and living in places like Lille, France; Montaldeo, Italy; New York; Paris; Miami; and Rhode Island has deepened her appreciation for the ways languages, traditions, and art forms intersect. As a translator, she focuses on bringing literature and comics to new audiences, carefully attending to the nuances of voice and cultural meaning. Her experience in stand-up and improvisation has sharpened her ability to embrace spontaneity and humor, enriching her writing and creative work with a distinctive, grounded levity.
