Improv 401 focuses on applying your skills to the stage and culminates in a 25-minute improv show inspired by a monologue. What to Expect: ๐ŸŽญ Advanced Scenework Skills: Hone your ability to create compelling, believable, and emotional scenes. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Expand Your "Yes-And" Techniques: Master the art of agreement and collaboration to build dynamic scenes. ๐ŸŒŸ Pull Inspiration: Learn to draw from various sources to inspire your performances. ๐Ÿค Intermediate Improv Skills: Dive into side support, heightening, point-of-view, and game-of-the-scene. ๐ŸŽ‰ Build a Comedy Show: Collaborate with your teammates to create a funny and cohesive performance. Prerequisites: Completion of Improv 101, 201, and 301 at Kismet Improv. Showcase: Saturday, April 19th, at 6 p.m. Instructor: Randy Miller Randy Miller is an established improviser, coach, and teacher who trained at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) theater in NYC. As a member of their advanced Academy Program, Randy honed his skills under the guidance of amazing coaches and gained independent training with various indie improv teams in New York. Randy has been a house performer at Kismet Improv since 2022. You can catch Randy actively performing and coaching teams at Kismet's Friday Night House Party, where previously performed with the Marquee Freeform. Additionally, he is the producer of Kismet's storytelling show, The Cicada. Beyond Kismet, Randy shares his love for improv by teaching adults with developmental disabilities at The Outsider Collective in Pawtucket, RI, and at the MAB Training and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough, MA, where he works with adults who have developmental disabilities, strokes, or other TBIs. Randyโ€™s teaching philosophy is about trustโ€”trusting yourself as a performer, trusting your teammates, and embracing the unknown in life and improv.
